Designed in 1998 this project presented some unique and challenging issues. Eight Specialty Referral practices, a Critical Care/Emergency practice and a regional reference laboratory were to be housed in a single new location. To complicate matters each was to remain a separate business, sharing only receptionists and a Practice Manager. No open land was available so a vacant building, formerly a consumer electronics store and warehouse, was selected as the base of the new facility.

Key to the success of this project was the willingness of the client groups to cooperate instead of argue, to see each other's needs and points of view, and make the difficult choices as one body.

The result was our finest hospital to that date, cutting new ground in business management, organization and medical practice.
